The +Alpha Anomaly Season started on 15th February 2025 in the Japanese city of Yokosuka. This charming coastal city is located in Kanagawa Prefecture, just south of Tokyo and Yokohama.
It was a somewhat chilly yet beautiful weekend, and the city was embracing the arriving Ingress agents in a way rarely seen these days…
Of those present, Niantic’s Brian, Sivino and Masashi were onsite to organize pre-anomaly faction registration, the agent swag marketplace & afterparty with a special guest being Yokosuka’s major himself.

The Season continued the very next weekend on 22nd February, in “the Old Pueblo”, or as most of you know it, Tucson. This outdoorsy Arizonian city lies near the west coast of the United States, just north of the Mexican border.
Sunshine accompanied agents throughout the weekend as they explored the artsy downtown, filled with breathtaking murals, different kinds of cacti, and delicious tacos & margaritas.
Niantic’s Brian and Thia as well as others from Niantic’s California offices were present onsite and engaging with agents in a friendly atmosphere. The NL-1331 van made an appearance and brought with it old-school swag that were sold in two special “Lab Sessions”.

The Season concluded on 22nd March in the third largest city of Italy, the Campanian capital of Napoli. This is one of the most historically and culturally significant cities in the country.
The mighty Vesuvius stood watch in distance as agents ventured through the old streets of the city centre and the seaside promenade, enjoying all kinds of pizzas, pastas, seafood and Italian coffee.
Niantic’s Hilda joined our agents during the battle and held many lovely chats at the Resistance afterparty. An impromptu stats competition was held at the OCF finish on Sunday with swag rewards.
We love seeing smiling faces of the many agents having fun and enjoying themselves at the Anomaly sites and there were many captured that weekend, have a look for yourself:
